High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) is a medical procedure that utilises highly focused ultrasound waves to precisely target and treat specific areas of tissue within the body. This technology has found applications in various medical specialties, including dermatology and aesthetics.
HIFU is employed for non-surgical facelifts and skin tightening procedures. By delivering focused ultrasound energy to deep layers of the skin, HIFU stimulates collagen production, resulting in firmer, lifted skin without the need for incisions or downtime. Results can last up to 18 months, however it should be performed at intervals of at least 6 months. Additionally, only one session is typically needed for facelift, while fat melting treatments may require up to 3 sessions.
